CJ Arthur writes science fiction from the misty mountains of Western North Carolina. Surrounded by forests and the occasional curious bear, he crafts stories of distant worlds, ancient portals, and the people brave enough to cross them.
His love for science fiction started early. A loyal Godzilla fan since childhood, he draws inspiration from long-running, iconic works such as Alien and Predator, both the films and the novels. Authors like Tanya Huff and Brandon Sanderson showed him how to build worlds that feel real and characters who come alive on the page. When he is not writing or working his day job, CJ enjoys a relatively quiet mountain life with his loving wife, Marie, and their dogs.
Marie played a crucial role in bringing Destiny to life. When CJ had the idea for the book but needed help getting started, she sat down with him, and together they created Vega Chambers on paper. Callista Reinhardt followed soon after. The rest, as they say, is alterverse history. That partnership continues to this day, with Marie serving as his first reader and most trusted critic.
Balancing a full-time career, a professional music project, and life in the mountains is no small feat. Yet CJ finds time to write by treating it as a discipline rather than a hobby. Early mornings and late nights often find him at his keyboard, chasing the next scene.
Beyond writing, CJ can be found camping under starry skies, streaming science fiction and fantasy shows at home, researching the paranormal (just in case), and listening to rock and metal music. He also writes, records, and performs regionally with his professional music projects. Whether on a stage or at a keyboard, CJ Arthur is always telling a story.
